commentary
I’ve been assured that the David Hughes involved here is not the ‘folk poet’ on whose song ‘A modest proposal’ Eddi duetted in the late 1980s and which was released on his album Active in the parish. I remain unclear, though, whether he is the same person as the David Hughes who started out circa 1978 playing keyboards in a Liverpool punk band called Dalek I Love You and then spent a period (May 1980 to 1981) with the synthesizer band OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark)
